Slowly but Surely

Woke up this morning to a message on yahoo AND an email from Ramon!! Getting those messages made the start of my day brighter and cheerier. I defly needed it after the crap I had to deal with in regards to my truck when I took it to Seekins. Anywho, he's still waiting right now, slowly making his way back to Iraq. Until he makes it there, I won't be able to hear from him again, prolly for about 3 to 5 days. Argh, I just wish he would get to where he's going so we can start our normal routine (yes, I thrive on routine). Oh well, it's back to filling up his inbox with hugs, kisses and a lot of 'i miss yous', hehe. I know it brings a smile to his face and thats all that matters :0)

Comment Problems

So I've heard from a few people that they have been unable to leave comments on my blog. I think I have found the answer and it lies in the fact that I had a template I found on the web and not a "default template" (the ones they offer through here). I have changed my blog to be a default template so if you guys would be so kind as to repost any comments that'd be cool.
I was beginning to think no one loved me cuz I haven't gotten any comments :(
Let's hope its fixed now.

Futon

So, like I mentioned in my earlier post, went shopping yesterday for a new bed for T. Let me tell you "why": he HAD a bunk bed with a futon on the bottom. Bought it a few years back with the intent that he would hold onto it for a loooong time since it just made sense no matter what your age. Now the kid just hates the top bunk. I always try and keep him off the futon so it'll last longer but it wasn't working. So, after yelling at him and yelling at him to get up top, I said screw it and went out and bought him a new futon to replace the BIG bunk bed (it makes more sense anyways cuz the kid got the short end of the stick when we moved into the apt with the smallest room). Now he has a futon which he can pull out into a bed to sleep or just leave it up in the futon/couch position and it works when he has friends over and they wanna watch tv or play video games. Here are a few pics:

This is a picture from the box of the new futon

This is my lil bro Sean taking apart the bunk bed. Thank god he agreed to help!

This is Christe and I watching cuz Sean didn't want any help

The finished product. Messy bed, of course. He's ALL boy!

Waiting.....

Started my 9 months of waiting yesterday. Kept myself pretty busy with finding a new bed for T and texting back and forth with Ramon while he was on an overnight. It still blows. This time, saying goodbye (well more like see ya later) wasn't nearly as bad as the first time though. But Ramon made things 10 times better when he blogged about me on myspace and basically told the world how awesome I am!! That, right there, just made all the fears of this relationship go away. He's a super duper keeper in my book now :)
My co-worker also found this really good quote and it made her think of how Ramon and I are during his absence: "Absence diminishes mediocre passions and increases great ones, as the wind extinguishes candles and fans fires." - Francois de La Rochefoucauld
I think I gotta agree with her. The feelings that were there before his initial leave in September were bigger when he came home for R&R. We shall see what the next 9 months brings and how things are when he gets back this fall.

Countdown....

Well, here we are coming up FAST to Ramon heading back to Iraq for 9 friggin months!! I'm not gonna lie, it's been a roller coaster of emotions this past few days. I miss the man when I'm not around him but can't seem to control my emotions (mostly frustration) when I do get to be with him. I'm totally chaulking it up to the fact that he is only here for a short time, that this relationship is so very new still, and that we really haven't had much alone time. I knew 15 days just wasn't enough.
I promised myself I wouldn't be an emotional wreck this time when he leaves like I was that September morning I had to say goodbye for the start of his deployment. But honestly, I think I'm totally kidding myself in that promise. He'll be heading to the airport on Saturday and I'm back to wishing like crazy he was here again, kinda like now when he's sitting next to me.

Took this picture Friday night while T was waiting to go out on the ice to be the "Spotlight Player of the Game" during the Ice Dogs game (Thanks again Patty for letting me use your Iphone to take the pics). I really like this picture because of the intensity on T's face. He has a look of total concentration, just waiting for his name to be called. (he also told me he was nervous so this could be his scared shitless face, LOL)
So, he's here!! It is SO wonderful to get to see Ramon, even if it is for a short time. It's also amazing how much I missed that man.
I didn't think I would see him until Saturday morning but thanks to the mistake of the army (HA!) and the help and support of some awesome hockey moms (Thank you Patty and Melissa for the push out the door and helping me with Tayllor), I was able to pick him up from the airport. I left Tayllor at the Dipper with his team knowing someone would drop him off at home for me afterwards, and headed out to the airport. Talk about some BIG ass butterflies in my tummy!! I called him to find out exactly where he was waiting and got to hear his voice for the first time in about 4 months, which did nothing to help the butterflies. They did subside a little after I got my hello kiss though (hehe). Once we got back to my apartment, and I was able to relax a bit, the butterflies were gone and everything was just as it should be. My heart even started pitter pattering some and doing a little flip flopping!!
It has been a nice weekend; got to take Ramon to some of Tayllor's hockey games this weekend, and even though the team didn't win, I am very happy he got to see T play (and I know T was really excited to have Ramon there watching). Now I'm at work when I would rather be at home spending more time with him. Ugh, responsiblities suck sometimes! I'm extremely happy none the less :)

Woo-freaking-Hoo

FINALLY heard from the man!!! He was in the states as of this morning when I got woken up by a text message from him. Should hopefully be coming to Alaska in the next few days (fingers crossed). He did say that he doesn't have to leave here until the 22nd or 24th which is AWSUM cuz now he gets to go with T and I down to Anchorage next weekend for the hockey tourney! Woohoo, things are looking up! Now if only the weather would change and my alternator would stop whining at me, things would be just about perfect (but the vehicle issue is a WHOLE nother story)

Winter Sucks!!

Seriously, this cold snap is sucking ass!! I'm SO chilled to the bone and seem to only stay warm when I'm in the comfort of my bed under all my blankets (even with that damn draft coming in the stupid window). My house is cold, my floors are cold, even the garage thats supposed to be heated is cold. The only warm place in the house is the downstairs bathroom. I think I'm going to move my bed in the 10x10 space and make that my new bedroom.
On another note, I have not heard from Ramon in a week now. I don't know where he is, if he's ok or just stranded somewhere. So, because I haven't heard from him or know where he is, I don't even know when his leave offiicially starts or ends. Which in turn just sucks cuz Tayllor and I leave for Anchorage next weekend for a hockey tournament and either A) Ramon will get to go with us cuz his leave time runs through that weekend, B) He will have to leave before or during that weekend, or C) He won't even make it here at all! ARGH, this is just further proof why the army and I do not get along!!

Happy New Year everyone!!
Had a really fun night last night (would have been 10x better if Ramon was there, but oh well). Went with my roomie Christe to a friends house for booze, Wii and lots of laughs, music and even some line dancing. Christe and I took a LOT of pics so as soon as I get them off my camera, I'll be posting them up.
Once again, Happy New Year and welcome to 2009!!!
