Lifestyle Change

Well, I have officially started my lifestyle change today (my diet). So far so good, granted its only been 1 day, LOL. I am really REALLY nervous I will fail and not continue on this road, but I am hoping my will power and my determination will get me through. I also got some great support from Tayllor and Christe. Even though they are both allowed to eat whatever they want, they have both assured me they won't rub it in my face and will continue to support me in my choice (even if it means eating low-fat this and fat-free that). I can't bring myself to post any pictures for a few different reasons, but I will keep everyone posted with my progress. Wish my luck!!! :)

  1. I'll be a supporter! I read "Body for Life for Women" and I really like that plan for a healthy lifestyle change. Check it out from the library if you can...I'm only 5 lbs away from my pre-baby weight and I'm not suffering :) Best of luck and I can't wait to hear more!!!

  2. I'll have to see about checking it out, but for now, I am going to stick with this 1300 calorie plan I found. Basically, I'm mostly watching my portions and watching what I eat. Christe and I started a new gym here in town, but they don't open until April. So for now, I'm going to work on shedding some of this weight, then I'll start the cardio training to help boost it more. I'm so nervous but so far so good. I've heard the first month or 2 is the worst so if I can get past that, I'll be good :)
You and your 5 lbs!! Like you need to lose weight :P Good job though, I'm proud of you. I'll look for that book at the library and give 'er a read. Thank you :)

  3. I'm so tired of not fitting into NON-maternity clothes ;)
I'm doing the same as far as watching portions and doing cardio and strength training 6 days a week (3 days of each). I eat 3 meals and have 3 snacks a day and incorporate good proteins and lots of veggies and fruits in there too. I've been able to stay away from fatty and fried foods, but still have a portion of ice cream or a chocolate. The kids' crying and screaming drives me to the fridge, so once I realized that I just acknowledge that I'm stressed and calm down with some water instead :) You can do it!!! I'm on week 6 of the 12 week program and this last week has been the hardest as the scale isn't budging and I'm a little bored with the routine, but I still get the workouts in at least :) Oh, and what's the new gym?

  4. Well looks like the sisters are all in this together so I'm throwing my support into the pot as well. We also have been trying to have a healthier lifestyle and lose weight. We are doing smaller portions, lower calories, and better choices with more fruits and veggies and less fat. We've also been trying to workout though I find that's the toughest thing to fit into my day...it's the thing that gets scrapped when I don't think I have enough time so I'm working on that. Anyway, I'm down 13 pounds now and am on a week where the scale isn't budging as well. BTW, if I ever meet that person that created the scale in heaven, he/she is going to get a piece of my mind!
Anyway, anything I can do to help you Miss, just ask. Maybe we could do a healthy dinner together every couple of weeks or so to encourage each other, either by cooking at one of our homes or going out (I've been figuring out good choices at restaurants in town here) and then go for a walk or something? With you and I gabbing away, a walk should go almost too quickly. :) What you think?

  6. Amber, I am totally down to get together whenever you want. The only thing is, I am usually the only one who is eating "my" food (the low fat stuff) so I'm usually just finding it in the fridge and making it from there. But, as for the walking thing, I would LOVE that. I loooove walking and usually Christe and I do that a lot during the summer with the dog too. So, as soon as it gets warmer, yes lets do that.
Dahlia, I am sorry we decided to go with this healthy life style AFTER you left. It would be neat to have all of us get together and walk together, have a nice healthy meal sometimes together. But noooo, you just had to go and move away, LOL.
Thanks for all the support ladies. I support you all too. I know you are both very strong woman and can stick with it. Amber, don't be discouraged about the scale not moving in the past week. That's always the point that breaks you but keep your head up and keep doing what you are doing. You'll see results soon. Dahlia, keep remembering to run to the water instead of the fridge when the kids cry. You can make it :) Love you both!
