Only in Alaska....

....do you have a moose looking in on your 1st grade class! :)

Yesterday I had to take T to the dentist. As I was dropping him back off at school, there was a HUGE bull moose right near the front door to the school, munching on leaves, looking into classrooms. Talk about a sight. I took a few pics with my phone but most of em didn't turn out too good. The one above was the best of the 3.

Here is a few pictures of the 2 moose Christe and I saw down the street from our house last night. Man, they were big girls!!

Possibility??

A friend of mine told me that there is a website where you can "demand" to have any of your favorite artists/events/etc to come to your hometown and perform. Well, my dream is to have Rascal Flatts come preform up here. Below is a link where you can demand to have Rascal Flatts come to town. Please, please, PLEASE do this for me. I would love to see these guys in concert. They are my FAV!! Thanks :0)

Wish I was 10 years younger

I've come to the conclusion I am not as young as I used to be. I had to get a tooth extracted on Tuesday (mostly because this particular tooth wasn't doing anything in the process of chewing) so they took it out. Now, I've had teeth extracted before and normally I'm a little sore the few hours after and then I'm good to go. Well this time, there was no "good to go". I went to the pharmacy after the docs to get my medicine and had to wait a friggin hour for them to fill it (stupid Walmart). After seeing my face for the first time in the mirror, I realized I looked like I had swallowed a softball so I called my wonderful roomie to ask if she'd pick up my prescription for me and I headed home to ice my HUGE cheek. And home was where I layed until Friday morning when I forced myself to go back to work. I have never been in this much pain. The only way I can describe it is I feel like I've had my mouth kicked by someone in steel toed boots. I feel like the doctor took my tooth, my gums and part of my jaw bone with the extraction. Only made it half a day at work on Friday, and I was home again on the couch icing my mouth and taking my meds (as well as some I-be-brokens). Its now Saturday and I'm feeling about 75% better. I'm still waiting for the dull ache to go away, and when the mouth has a dull ache, it really does hurt. Tayllor, of course, is bored out of his mind and wants to go do things but I'm trying to heal myself. I mostly feel bad because I promised him I'd take him to the ice park today and we'd play on the ice playground, but it ain't happening this weekend. *sigh* my fingers are crossed I'll wake up tomorrow and be 100% better!!

Lifestyle Change

Well, I have officially started my lifestyle change today (my diet). So far so good, granted its only been 1 day, LOL. I am really REALLY nervous I will fail and not continue on this road, but I am hoping my will power and my determination will get me through. I also got some great support from Tayllor and Christe. Even though they are both allowed to eat whatever they want, they have both assured me they won't rub it in my face and will continue to support me in my choice (even if it means eating low-fat this and fat-free that). I can't bring myself to post any pictures for a few different reasons, but I will keep everyone posted with my progress. Wish my luck!!! :)

Ooops

So, before I get bombarded with questions from family members about that website for the Northern Attack team, I wanted to share some info.

No, there are no photos yet of Tayllor because the team hasn't done anything yet. No, Tayllor doesn't have a number yet. The manager picks that out.
No, those stats are not current for this season.

I think that's it, hehe

Summer Hockey

I gotta share some pretty exciting news with everyone. Tayllor got invited to play on an elite hockey team this summer to compete in a tournament down in Vegas this year!! He was chosen by the owner/manager of the Northern Attack hockey team, based out of Anchorage, for his skill and sportsmanship on and off the ice. He will be playing with all kids from the same birth year (97's we call em) mostly from Anchorage, a few from Wasilla and Kenai as well as 2 of his friends from his Arctic Lions hockey team. This is a pretty big deal to us, mostly because not everyone gets invited or looked at for this opportunity. Tayllor is really excited because he gets to play more hockey and he gets to go to Vegas!

I am attaching a link to the Northern Attack 97 AAA website. If you click "roster" at the top of the page, it will take you to the list of kids on the team this year. Click on T's name and you can be directed to the bio the manager wrote about him. I was pretty impressed with the good things he said about my little guy. I'm such a proud mama!!

He will be heading to Vegas first week in July for the tournament, but first down to Anchorage a week or 2 before that to get some practice in. Unfortunatly, because of my job in the construction business, I am unable to leave during the summer time so I will miss it all. It's also really expensive to fly anywhere now-a-days. As bummed as I am, I know this is an important step for T because he has already made a really good name for himself within the state, but now he gets to try and make a name for himself nationally as well as see what kinds of competition is out there. Thankfully, the parents of the other 2 boys from here that are going have agreed to take T with them and take care of him for me. I trust them completely so all should be wonderful. I guess I better get used to the idea of not being able to travel with my kid for hockey since prices are just outrageous. But, how I would love to get to go to Vegas for T's 1st time there!!
